Dr. Laura M. Arpan is the Theodore Clevenger Professor of Communication and Director of Doctoral Studies in the School of Communication at Florida State University. Dr. Arpan’s research examines risk perceptions, human motivation and responses to pro-environmental messages, interventions, and related technologies. Her projects focus on the effectiveness of promotional messages and outreach efforts designed to encourage sustainable behaviors such as energy conservation and efficiency. Jen Robinson
Jen Robinson is a Senior Technical Leader at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
Jen joined EPRI in 2008 and helped launch the customer-focused research program entitled Understanding Electric Utility Customers. Her research focuses on understanding what people and businesses are likely to want and adopt in relation to energy-related rates, technologies, products, and services.
Jen is a recovering engineer, having switched over to the “dark” side of social sciences with her graduate work in 2007 (but let’s face it, the social sciences are the “light” side, really!).
